Park Clean Up Day -
October 2009

More than your basic "clean up", this year was dedicated to park beautification as well. A huge turnout of volunteers did all the usual stuff, and planted the front area with new flowers and shrubs!

Bob Evans provided this bit of park history, going back over 50 years!

Here are the two pictures taken in November of 1953 with my mother and our family dog, Butch.  Location is on the east side of the park, you can see
Oakland Hills in the background and the small trees.  At that time they kept
the trees trimmed like shrubs.  It was a baseball park and the high fence in
the background was for errant baseballs.

Fountain Pavers -
September 2008

A "sweat equity" project if there ever was one, our volunteers helped dig out around the new fountain to supply drainage, topped by some attractive pavers -- just before the rainy season arrives. Special thanks to Steve Noetzel, the mastermind, foreman, and truck driver of the project.

Park Clean Up Day -
September 2008

Our dedicated volunteers showed up in an early Fall drizzle, but finished in warm sunshine as we prepared the park for "its close-up" in just 2 weeks at Dogtoberfest.

Park Fountain -
June 2008

The good people from Rec & Park were out in force - and they brought their "heavy equipment" too! A great big Thank You to Gary, Mike, John, Paul, Paul, Bryan, Sal, and Fred for doing such a great job with our fountain install, and for helping us realize the dream that we worked towards for over a year.

You can also view a FULL SIZE slide-show presentation of these photos.
